Summary

With WFAA’s recent launch of a new financial system FAST and new CRM 4WARD, some of our articles may be out of date. We are working to make updates as soon as possible. Please contact help@uwadvancement.org if you have any questions.

Through this form you can make requests for vanity URLs, URL tracking, and displaying high-priority funds in search results on SupportUW.org/give. If you simply need a giving URL that pre-fills a fund designation (see example), please visit our Giving URL Builder page.

  • In some cases, providing a pre-filled giving URL requires the approval of an administrator in your school or college or approval from a UW Foundation development staff member. Please ensure that your use is approved.

  • Gifts can be tracked in ABE reporting when an appeal code is included in the giving link we provide you.
    •
    •
    •
  • Please indicate below if you have an existing ABE appeal code (and what that code is) or if you need a new appeal code created.
  • Enter the fund number to which you are suggesting donors direct their gifts. If you are unsure of the fund number, or will need to establish a new fund to receive the gifts, please contact your development director or our Gift and Fund Management team prior to submitting the form.

  • If you plan to print or display this link, a vanity URL is more user friendly. If you only intend to use this URL on webpages and emails, a vanity URL is not necessary.
    •
    •
  • For the convenience of our donors, who will type this URL into their browser, we suggest keeping this concise and "readable." Please keep in mind that vanity URLs are usually featured in an appeal that explains what fund the URL is linked to.

As a rule of thumb, your custom phrase (supportuw.org/giveto/vanity) should be no longer than 15 characters. Finally, please avoid using a person's name in the vanity URL whenever possible to prevent the URL from reading as "giveto/NancySmith."
  • If you select "Yes" this fund will appear in search results on the UW Foundation website (supportuw.org). To enable this, you must also provide a short description and keywords for for this fund.
    •
    •
    •
    •
  • Keywords can help people find your fund when using terms that are not in the fund name. Please separate keywords/phrases with a comma.
    (maximum 128 characters)
  • Please provide a short description to help website visitors understand how the fund is used. For example, "Provides support and aid for the American Indian Studies Program in its teaching, research and public service roles."
    (maximum 255 characters)
