A principal gift is a minimum $5 million gift that provides a transformational impact for the university. These gifts require a comprehensive, personalized stewardship strategy, crafted in coordination with the WFAA principal gifts, stewardship, and communication teams.
Prospect managers, directors of development, and/or campus colleagues should alert the director of principal gifts to any imminent principal gift commitments, or gift commitments from principal gift prospects who should receive a high level of personalized stewardship and recognition. The director of principal gifts will convene a planning meeting with relevant WFAA and campus stakeholders to craft a personalized stewardship and recognition strategy.
